Keen Pyrenees Hiking Boots

Keen’s Pyrenees Hiking Boots (womens / mens) have the look of a classic leather boot while sporting some sophisticated shock-absorbing technology. A pair of Pyrenees is highly waterproof, thanks in part to the use of a patented membrane system that lets foot moisture escape through the side of the boot while keeping external water from flowing in.

Many hiking boots make dubious claims of being “waterproof.” Not so with these Keen Pyrenees. Yeah, if you stand ankle high in standing water for minutes at a time your socks will eventually get damp. But if you are hiking in the rain, tramping through wet grass or stomping through creeks, your feet will stay dry. That waterproof-ness comes at a cost: These boots are not as breathable as some others. If you’ll be doing a lot of wet weather hiking, defitely get a pair of Pyrenees. Otherwise, consider getting a pair of the excellent, more breathable, Targhee II hiking boots instead.
